Il mare difforme by Fabrizio Ciappina,
Tulpenmanie Gallery
Apr. 13, 2026
Galleria Tulpenmanie, Villa Lavezzari, Via Mauro Macchi 6
Lorenzo Degli Esposti curated the exhibition Il mare difforme, a solo exhibition by the Messina-based artist and architect Fabrizio Ciappina. The exhibition was made in collaboration with the Accademia dei Conigli. The exhibition was on display at the Tulpenmanie Gallery in Villa Lavezzari, Via Mauro Macchi 6, Milan, from 14 to 24 April 2026, as part of the 2026 edition of Milan Art Week. On the occasion of the exhibition opening (Monday 13 April 2026, 6.30 pm, by invitation only – R.S.V.P.), a conversation entitled Horcynus Orca took place between the novelist and architect Gianni Biondillo, the landscape architect Elisa Cristiana Cattaneo, the author Fabrizio Ciappina, the curator Lorenzo Degli Esposti, and the psychoanalyst Augusto Iossa Fasano, on Stefano D’Arrigo’s masterpiece, with which Ciappina shares settings and atmospheres. The exhibition comprises the series of fifteen watercolours La forma del mare, landscapes of the Strait painted between 2024 and 2026, and a polyptych from 2026 entitled Frammenti di paesaggio. In the works on display, the sea, large square boulders alternating with jagged stones, mountains in the background and the sky come together in paratactic configurations, suspended between abstraction and figuration.
The exhibition opening is at 6:30pm, 13 Apr.
Exhibition: from 14 Apr. to 24 Apr.
Mon–Fri: 10.00–13.00 / 15.00–18.00
